Astrid was built for parents, by parents.

Astrid started as a personal project by Jim and Cheryl Tafur to help them organize and manage their son Hunter’s autism plan. The project quickly evolved into a useful tool which allowed them to easily track the effectiveness of his care plan against his developmental goals. This gave them information which was helpful in making decisions about Hunter’s care.

Recognizing this tool could help many other parents, Jim and Cheryl decided to continue to develop Astrid into a robust platform dedicated to supporting families affected by autism. In addition to making autism care management as easy as possible, they wanted to provide a collaborative tool where parents could connect with one another as well as invite others to be members of their care team: therapists, doctors, educators and family members. They also wanted to ensure they simplified the process of finding organizations, service providers and healthcare professionals who are educated and experienced in autism care and available to help.
