Autism is the fastest growing developmental disability. The prevalence in the United States is estimated at 1 in 59 birth. Roughly 70 million individuals are living with autism (ASD) globally which is about 1% of the world’s population. Over 3.5 million in the United States alone.
Life disruption and financial burden adds significant stress to the family. In addition to medical costs, intensive behavioral interventions for children with ASD cost $40,000 to $60,000 per child per year.[11]
With early diagnosis and intervention, it’s estimated the cost of lifelong care can be reduced by 2/3.
